Ribbed Belt Tensioner, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front noise insulation, refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front right wheel spoiler, refer to FRONT WHEEL SPOILER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI A7/S7 or FRONT WHEEL SPOILER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI RS7 .

Audi RS6/RS7:

-- Remove the front lower coolant pipe, refer to LOWER FRONT COOLANT LINES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

CAUTION:

Risk of damage due to reversed running direction on a used ribbed belt.

Before removing ribbed belt, marking running direction with chalk or felt-tip pen for reinstallation later.

-- Swivel the tensioner in direction of -arrow- to release the tension on the ribbed belt.

-- Remove the ribbed belt from the generator and secure the tensioner with Locking Pin T10060A.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the ribbed belt tensioning damper from the oil pan upper section.
