High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb

Trim Removal Wedge 3409
Cleaning solution D 009 401 04

Removal

-- Remove the rear lid trim panel to the side. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .

-- Release the retainer in -direction of arrow A- and disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Remove the nut -1- -arrows-.

-- Pry the bolt -3- on the outer side out of the clips nuts -4- using the 3409.

-- Remove the high-mounted brake lamp -1- from the rear lid -arrows- and guide the electric wire -2- through the opening in the body.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Entire high-mounted brake light must be replaced in the event of faulty LEDs.

-- Check the seal -2- between the high-mounted brake lamp -1- and the rear lid for damage.

-- Install the high-mounted brake lamp into the rear lid.

-- Tighten bolts, refer to TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION AND SEQUENCE: HIGH-MOUNTED BRAKE LAMP BULB .

-- Connect the connectors.

-- Push the rubber lip under the rear window using the 3409.

-- Install the rear lid trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .
