Driver Side Knee Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing

- Follow all regulations when disposing of pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING .
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the instrument panel cover on the driver side. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the nut -2- with the ground cable connection.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and -4-.
-- Disengage the driver side knee airbag -1- and bracket and remove it as far as possible until the connector disconnects -5-.
WARNING:
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
