Flange Shaft Seals, Rear Final Drive Removed: Removing

-- Follow the general repair instructions. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .

-- Remove rear final drive. Refer to REAR FINAL DRIVE .

-- Remove the flange shaft bolt. While doing this, install the two bolts into the flange counter hold the flange shaft using a tire iron.

-- Remove the flange shaft.

NOTE:

Use the VW 771 to remove the flange shaft if it is not possible to remove it manually.

-- Remove the flange shaft seal using the VW 771 and the additional part for the slide hammer VW 771/37.
