Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50-, Function

The bracket -4- for the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- -1- and for the Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- -2- is connected with the body via the clip nuts -6- to reduce noise.
The Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- and the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- are directly connected to the bracket
The Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- supports the engines own coolant pump during coolant recirculation. It is activated by the Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head to ensure sufficient and even coolant flow through the A/C heater core.

NOTE:

The installation of the Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- and the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- depends upon the engine and the vehicle equipment.

There is no Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- / Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- installed for vehicles with an auxiliary heater. These functions are carried out by the Recirculation Pump -V55- / Heater Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N279-.

The coolant is drawn in via the coolant hose -5- from the engine with the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- -6- running and is pumped via the coolant hose -3- to the heater core for the heater (for the A/C unit).

Using the coolant hose -4-, the coolant flows back to the engine via the return hose -1- for the heater core and the Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- -2- (dependent upon the engine version and the vehicle equipment).
This controls the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- directly when the ignition is turned on, depending on the coolant temperature and the adjustment on the Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head.
The Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- (and the Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82-) are directly controlled by the Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head for vehicles with a "start/stop system".
There may be faults in these components stored in the Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head. Therefore pay attention to the version, coding, and adaption of the Climatronic Control Module -J255-. use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
