Inner Heat EXCHANGER, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit, refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

-- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead, refer to Bulkhead .

NOTE:

On vehicles where the coolant hose is guided through the plenum chamber bulkhead, only the plenum chamber bulkhead is loosened.

-- Release the retainers -arrow A- and remove the wire feed-through -1- upward -arrow B-.

-- Remove the refrigerant lines from the inner heat exchanger, refer to REFRIGERANT LINES WITH INNER HEAT EXCHANGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the inner heat exchanger -1- at the bracket by releasing the clip -5- -arrow- and opening.

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 4-.

-- Disconnect the refrigerant line -2- with the inner heat exchanger from the expansion valve.

-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set VAS 6122.

-- Remove the refrigerant line -1- with the inner heat exchanger toward the front as shown in the illustration.

-- In vehicles with the coolant hose through the plenum chamber bulkhead, press the plenum chamber bulkhead -2- toward the engine.

-- Guide the refrigerant line with the inner heat exchanger out under the brake booster -3- by rotating it.
