Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Follow all safety precautions, refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Audi A7 Sportback:
-- Remove the rear shelf, refer to REAR SHELF, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Audi A6/A7 without Hybrid Drive:
-- With folding rear seat backrest: Fold the rear seat backrests forward.
-- Remove the luggage compartment floor, refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of damaging electronic components when disconnecting the battery.
- Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.
-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery terminal, refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Cover Version 1: Unclip in direction of -arrow- the cover -1- with the Trim Removal Wedge 3409 and remove it.
-- Cover Version 2: Unclip the locking flange cover -1- at the tabs in direction of -arrows- using the Trim Removal Wedge 3409 and remove it.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Cut through the sealing all the way around the locking flange cover using the Window Cutter VAG 1561A and Blade (L-shaped, 25.4 mm) VAG 1561/22.
-- Remove the locking flange cover.
-- Repair any damaged painted surfaces, refer to the Paint Guide.
-- Apply corrosion protection if necessary, refer to Surface Technology/Chemical Materials.
-- Remove the locking ring using the Wrench - Fuel Sending Unit T10202.
-- Remove the locking flange through the opening in the fuel tank.
-- Remove the seal through the opening in the fuel tank.
-- Reach through the opening in the fuel tank, press the releases in direction of -arrows- and unlock Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-.
-- Remove the Fuel Level Sensor 2 - G169- item -1- upward from the mount and carefully remove it through the opening in the fuel tank.
Be careful not to bend the floater arm on the fuel level sensor when removing it.
