Cigarette Lighter -U1-

Removal

-- Remove the front ashtray. Refer to FRONT ASHTRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pry off the cover -1- over the Cigarette lighter illumination bulb -L28- -arrows-.

-- The release tabs -2- on the release tool T40148 must engage in the openings in the cigarette light -3- -arrow- and the threaded pin -1- must slide down as far as the stop.

-- Slide the T40148 into the cigarette lighter -1- as far as the stop.

-- Rotate the thumb-wheel -2- on the T40148 clockwise as far as the stop.

The piston -2- is pulled upward and the release tabs -1- on the T40148 spread -arrows-.

-- Remove the cigarette lighter using the T40148 from the Cigarette lighter illumination -L28-.

-- Open the clips -arrows-.

-- Remove the cigarette lighter and illumination ring -1- from the front ashtray -2-.

-- Guide the wire through the mount.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

CAUTION:

Risk of injury.

After removing the T40148, check to see if the lighter retaining tabs are bent.
If the retaining tabs are bent, bend them back so the lighter does not slide out.

-- Remove the support -1- on the T40148.

-- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

-- Rotate the thumb-wheel -4- on the T40148 counterclockwise -arrow-. This loosens the release tabs -2- on the cigarette lighter -item 3- so the T40148 can be removed.

-- Install the front ashtray. Refer to FRONT ASHTRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
