Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Lifting Tackle 3033
- Engine And Transmission Holder VAS 6095
- Shop Crane VAS 6100
- Lift Arm Extension VAS 6101
- Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS 6095/1-11
Procedure
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131B.
- Engine secured with Articulated Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7.
-- Attach the Lift Arm Extension VAS 6101 to the Shop Crane VAS 6100.
-- Engage the Lifting Tackle 3033 on the engine lifting eyes and on the shop crane as shown in the illustration.
-- Tension engine slightly with shop crane, do not raise.
Engine Mount Version 1
-- Disconnect the left and right connectors -2- for the Left Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve -N144- /Right Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve - N145- and remove them from the bracket.
-- Remove the nut -1- and remove the bracket with the wiring harness from the subframe.
The installation position with the engine installed is shown in the illustration.
Engine Mount Version 2
-- Disconnect the left and right connectors -2- for the Left Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve -N144- /Right Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve - N145- and remove them from the bracket.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and remove the bracket with the wiring harness from the subframe.
The installation position with the engine installed is shown in the illustration.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- from the engine mount.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Remove the Articulated Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7 from the engine.
-- Raise engine from engine carrier.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the left engine support.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the right engine support.
-- Secure the starter on the engine.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Secure the engine to the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS 6095 using the Engine/Transmission Holder - Universal Mounting VAS 6095/1 and Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS 6095/1-11 and tighten to 40 Nm, as illustrated.
