Engine And Transmission, Separating, Vehicles With DSG Transmission

Preparing the Articulated Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7:

  1. Spindle 3367/3 from Press Tool For Viscous Fan 3367
  2. M10 nut
  3. Engine Support T10014
  4. Articulated Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7

Procedure

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Version 1

-- Remove the connectors -1, and 3- from the mount, disconnect, and free up the wires.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- and unclip the Differential Pressure Sensor -G505- from the bracket and free it up.

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Version 2:

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 4- and remove them from the bracket.

NOTE:

Ignore -items 2 and 3-.

Vehicles with an SCR system:

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

NOTE:

Ignore -item 2-.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

NOTE:

Ignore -items 1 and 2-.

-- Remove nut -arrow-, and remove particulate filter with the front exhaust pipe.

-- Remove the left and right drive axles from the transmission flange shaft, refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the clamp -arrow- and remove the coolant hose.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of destroying the transmission control module (Mechatronic) with electrostatic discharge.

  • Always "discharge" the static electricity. Do this by touching a grounded object, for example vehicle ground, the vehicle or the hoist.
  • Do not touch contacts in transmission connector with hands.

-- Turn the twist lock counter-clockwise -arrow- and disconnect the connector from the transmission.

-- Free up the wiring harness on the transmission.

-- Remove bolts -arrows- and move the ATF cooler to the side.

NOTE:

Ignore -1, 2 and 3-.

-- Remove the lower cover -1- from the transmission -arrow-.

-- Join the tools as illustrated.

-- Counterhold the crankshaft to loosen the dual mass flywheel bolts.

NOTE:

When mounting, turn the crankshaft only in the direction of engine rotation -arrow-.

-- Remove the 6 bolts -arrow- from the dual mass flywheel. Turn the crankshaft an additional 60° in the direction of engine rotation.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Remove bolt -3-, and move Transmission Fluid Cooling Valve -N509- to the side.

NOTE:

Ignore -item 1-.

-- Equip the Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131B with the Scissor Lift Table - Audi Set VAS 6131/10 and Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set VAS 6131/11, and Articulated Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7 as follows:

NOTE:

The other attachments remain unchanged.

-- Secure the Articulated Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7 to the engine on the front to the right with the M10 nut -arrow-, as shown in the illustration.

-- Install the joint support on the Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131B and tighten it to 20 Nm.

CAUTION:

Danger of leaks in the ATF oil pan.

  • The Scissor Lift Table - Gearbox Support VAS 6131/14 must not be set on the ATF oil pan.

-- Attach the mounting elements from the Scissor Lift Table - Audi Set VAS 6131/10 and Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set VAS 6131/11 on the front of the transmission, as shown in illustration.

-- Turn the left and right spindles until the Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set - Mounting VAS 6131/11-4 are firmly touching the transmission.

-- Attach mounting element base plates to Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131B and tighten to 20 Nm.

-- Remove the starter bolts -1- and -2-.

-- Press the starter off the transmission and leave it in the installation position.

-- Remove the remaining bolts -3 through 10- that attach the engine to the transmission.

NOTE:

Ignore -item A-.

-- Loosen the side bolts -1- on the Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131B land the pull the rear table plate and transmission slightly toward the rear.
