Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 -G648-, Installing And Removing, Vehicles With A Turbocharger: Removing
When working on the whole exhaust system:
- Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
When removing the wire do not cut it, in this case a fault diagnosis will no longer be possible.
-- Remove the engine cover, refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Open the clamps -arrows- and remove the air guide pipe -1-.
Depending on the vehicle equipment level and market-specific crankcase ventilation hose may be used, which cannot be removed from the cylinder head cover without being destroyed. In these versions the hose on the cylinder head cover is destroyed and replaced.
-- Remove the hose -arrow- for the crankcase ventilation, to do so - if equipped- press the release button or the damage the hose connection on the cylinder head cover.
-- Remove the bracket for the connector -2- and free up and disconnect the connector.
-- Remove the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 -G648- -1- with a tool from the Diesel Engine Tool Set - 17 mm T10395A.
