Muffler, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

When working on the whole exhaust system:

Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Remove the rear tunnel brace, refer to TUNNEL BRIDGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the NOx Sensor 2 -G687- -2-.

NOTE:

Ignore -1- and -arrows-.

-- Loosen clamping sleeves -1 and 2- and slide towards the rear, and tie up the particulate filter to the underbody.

WARNING:

Risk of accident due to the weight of the muffler.

A second technician is needed to remove the rear muffler.

-- Disconnect the connector -4- and free up the wire.

-- Disengage the retaining loop -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 3- and remove the muffler.
