Exhaust Manifold, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With AWD: Removing

WARNING:

When working on the whole exhaust system:

Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Remove the engine cover, refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- From above remove the nuts that are accessible -2- to remove the exhaust Pipe.

NOTE:

The nut -1- and bolt -3 - will be removed later.

-- Remove the rear noise insulation, refer to REAR NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the decoupling element inside the front exhaust pipe.

Do not bend decoupling element in front exhaust pipe more than 10°.

Vehicles without A SCR System

-- Loosen the clamping sleeve threaded connections -arrows-.

-- Slide the clamping sleeve toward the rear and slightly lower the exhaust pipe.

Vehicles with A SCR System

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Loosen the clamp -3- and remove the Reducing Agent Injector -N474-.

NOTE:

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove bolts -1- and nuts -2-, lower the exhaust manifold slightly.
