1. Bolt
   • 20 Nm
2. Suspended Mount
   • Replace if damaged.
   • Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
3. Center Muffler
   • Original equipment as one unit with rear mufflers. For repairs, replace each separately
   • for removal, remove the diagonal braces, refer to Fig 5
   • Separating point, refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
   • Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
4. Rear Muffler
   • Original equipment as one unit with center muffler
   • The center muffler and the rear muffler can be replaced individually if a repair is required.
   • for removal, remove the diagonal braces, refer to Fig 5
   • Separating point between the center and rear muffler, refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
   • Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
5. Seal
   • Replacing
6. Nut
   • 23 Nm
7. Catalytic Converter
   • Protect from shocks and impact stress
   • Removing and installing:
     • Vehicles with 7-speed DSG Transmission 0B5 left, refer to LEFT CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH DSG TRANSMISSION .
     • Vehicles with 7-speed DSG Transmission 0B5 right, refer to RIGHT CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH DSG TRANSMISSION .
     • Vehicles with an 8-speed automatic transmission 0BK, refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, REMOVING, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
   • Individual components of suspension, refer to Fig 4
8. Nut
   • 23 Nm
9. Seal
   • Replacing
10. Front Muffler
    • With decoupling element, decoupling element must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it may be damaged
    • Removing and installing, refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
11. Front Clamping Sleeve
    • Installed position, refer to Fig 2
    • Pushed all the way onto the front muffler
    • Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
    • Tighten threaded connections evenly.
12. Nut
    • 23 Nm
13. Trim
    • For the tail pipe
    • Push all the way onto the tail pipe
14. Suspended Mount
    • Replace if damaged.
    • Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
15. Nut
    • 20 Nm
    • Replacing
16. Rear Clamping Sleeve
    • For individual replacement of center and rear mufflers
    • Installed position, refer to Fig 3
    • Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
    • Tighten threaded connections evenly.
17. Nut
    • 23 Nm
18. Bolt
    • 23 Nm
19. Suspended Mount
    • Replace if damaged.
    • Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .

-- Install double clamps so that the bolt ends do not project over lower edge of double clamp.

• Installed position: Threaded connections point toward outside.

-- To remove, remove the diagonal braces for the center and rear mufflers -1- and -2-.

-- Install the diagonal braces, refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .
