Left Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With DSG Transmission: Removing
When installing, bring all cable ties back to same positions.
-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131-, refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 2 -G108- /OXYGEN SENSOR 2 AFTER CATALYTIC CONVERTER -G131-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the subframe crossbrace, refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
The suspension components could be damaged.
- Do not rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe mount, the steering gear or the subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.
-- Remove the left front muffler, refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner, refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the steering intermediate shaft from the steering gear and then push the splines into each other, refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and cover -1- from the transmission.
-- Loosen the threaded connection -2- and move the tab -1- downward in direction of -arrow-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Place the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support T10337 on the Engine and Gearbox Jack VAS 6931 and place under the transmission.
-- Lift the transmission slightly with the engine and gearbox jack.
There is the risk of an accident.
- Do not lower the Engine and Gearbox Jack VAS 6931 during assembly and do not leave it under the vehicle unsupervised.
-- Remove the bolts from the tunnel crossmember -arrows-.
-- Lower the tunnel crossmember to dimension -a- using the Engine/Gearbox Jack VAG 1383A.
- Dimension -a- = maximum 70 mm.
-- Remove the left catalytic converter.
