Checking Tread Depth

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2015 Audi S7, 2015 Audi RS 7, 2015 Audi A7 Quattro, 2014 Audi S7, and 2014 Audi RS 7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

For safety reasons, all tires on the vehicle should be of the same make and tread design.

On AWD vehicles, always use tires of the same make and tread design. If not, the center differential can get damaged.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

NOTE: The scale on the test pin for checking the tread depth has a symbol of a tire.

-- Ascertain the tread depth of all the tires (including spare tires) with a Test Pin T40139 and record in the maintenance table.

NOTE:

The minimum tread depth is reached when the tires have worn down level with the 1.6 mm high tread wear indicators -arrows- positioned at intervals around the tire.
