Coolant Level, Checking And Filling

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2015 Audi S7, 2015 Audi RS 7, 2015 Audi A7 Quattro, 2014 Audi S7, and 2014 Audi RS 7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

WARNING: The coolant reservoir is under pressure. Open only when the engine is cold.
CAUTION: Use only distilled water (DI water) for mixing coolant additives. Optimum corrosion protection can be reached only by using distilled water.
NOTE:

The vehicle be must level.

The water used for mixing greatly influences the effectiveness of the coolant. To meet water quality requirements, only distilled water is recommended when mixing with coolant.

Small quantities of coolant can be added. Use coolant system filler unit VAS 6096 if larger quantities of coolant are needed when filling.

Consult the owner's manual for the coolant system filler unit VAS 6096.

G12++ and G13 may be mixed with the G11, G12 and G12+ coolant additives. However, this can worsen the corrosion protection.

Perform the following:

-- When the engine is cold, check the coolant level via the markings -illustration- on the container.

-- If the coolant level is too low: Fill using the required mixture ratio.

Freeze protection to Coolant additive Water
-13°F (-25°C) approximately 40% approximately 60%
-33°F (36°C) approximately 50% approximately 50%
NOTE: If there is a loss of fluid and this is not usage-related: Determine the cause and inform the customer. Repair measures.
