Battery Without Visual Indicator

NOTE:

Applies only to the auxiliary battery in hybrid vehicles.

The auxiliary battery A1 is located in the spare wheel well near battery A.

Do not open acid batteries.

CAUTION: Replace the battery if the electrolyte level is below the min. marking. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Check that the battery and terminal clamp are tightly in position and tighten if necessary. Refer to BATTERY, CHECK THE BATTERY TERMINALS AND THE BATTERY FOR SECURE FIT .

-- Check the battery electrolyte level visually.

The acid level must be above the MIN mark.

NOTE:

Using a flashlight during the visual inspection makes it easier to see the MIN and MAX marks.

If the marks are difficult to see: Hold a small mirror at a right angle to the battery cells and use a flashlight to check the electrolyte level.
