Turbocharger, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With A Turbocharger: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the seals and O-rings.

Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the oil supply line connection.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory .

To ensure the turbocharger is supplied with enough oil, let the engine run at idle for approximately 1 minute after installing the turbocharger. Do not increase the engine speed during this time.

-- Electrical connections and wiring routing, refer to APPROPRIATE SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM INFORMATION.

-- Install the EGR pipe, refer to Fig 1.

-- Install the air guide pipe, refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR SYSTEM, VEHICLES WITH TURBOCHARGER .

-- Install the particulate filter:

Vehicles with Front Wheel Drive (FWD), refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH FWD .
Vehicles with All Wheel Drive (AWD), refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH AWD .

-- Install the lock carrier cover, refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
