Electrical Auxiliary Heater Activation, Checking

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2015 Audi RS 7, 2015 Audi A7 Quattro, 2014 Audi S7, 2014 Audi RS 7, and 2014 Audi A7 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Installed on vehicles with TDI-engines and for vehicles with high voltage systems (hybrid vehicles with gasoline engine).

NOTE:

An electrical auxiliary heater is installed as an auxiliary heater on vehicles with a TDI engine without a "parking heater" and on vehicles with a high voltage system (hybrid vehicles with gasoline engine).

In vehicles with a gasoline engine (except in vehicles with a high voltage system), an auxiliary heater is currently not installed (a "parking heater" installed as optional equipment is also not activated as an auxiliary heater).

Currently an Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- is also installed on vehicles with a high voltage system (hybrid vehicles) and a gasoline engine, refer to ELECTRICAL AUXILIARY HEATER ACTIVATION, CHECKING .

For vehicles with a gasoline engine, the electric auxiliary heater (the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35-) is activated by the Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head via the local data bus (activated via the same outlet and also via the Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126-) on the Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module -J604-. If there is a complaint with these vehicles, check the Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126- or Fresh Air Blower -V2- and the Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module -J604-. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function and appropriate System Wiring Diagram.

Make sure to use the correct version of the Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126-. For vehicles with a high voltage system (hybrid vehicles) and gasoline engines, additional information is sent to activate the Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module -J604-, for example via the local Data bus.

With a Start/Stop System, the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- activation is switched off for the time in which the stop function is active (to protect the battery).

After the engine is started with the start function, the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- is activated again by the engine control module. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
