May only be removed when refrigerant circuit is opened or has been discharged; bring vehicle to a shop that has the necessary tools and in which the work can be performed accordingly by qualified personnel, refer to REFRIGERANT R134A SERVICING (1 OF 2) or REFRIGERANT R134A SERVICING (2 OF 2) .

- Dial Gauge Holder VW387
- Dial gauge
Procedure
-- Remove the A/C compressor, refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH 8-CYLINDER FSI/TFSI ENGINE .
-- Clean the drive plate flange -A-.
-- Secure the gauge -B- to the A/C compressor with the Dial Gauge Holder VW387 -C-.
-- Attach the dial gauge probe -D- to the drive plate flange with a pre-tensioning of approximately 1.0 mm and set the gauge to "0".
-- Turn the A/C compressor drive unit -E- a few turns.
- Target value for the run-out deviation: less than 0.21 mm.
- Maximum variance: 0.2 mm.
-- If the run-out deviation is greater than 0.2 mm, repeat the adjustment for the drive plate, refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
