Overview - Oil Pan/Oil Pump

NOTE:

If large quantities of metal particles or abraded material are detected during engine repairs, it may mean the crankshaft or connecting rod bearings are damaged. To prevent damage, perform the following steps after completing the repair; carefully clean the oil channels and replace the oil spray jets, the oil cooler and the oil filter.

Oil Pan Lower Section/Oil Pump

  1. Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-
  2. Seal
    • Always replace
  3. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2
    • Always replace
  4. Oil Pan Lower Section
  5. Intake Tube
    • For the oil pump
  6. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
  7. O-Ring
    • Always replace
  8. Bolt
    • 8 Nm + 90°
    • Always replace
  9. Oil Pipe
  10. Bolt
    • 8 Nm + 90°
    • Always replace
  11. O-Ring
    • Always replace
  12. Seal
    • Always replace
  13. Alignment Sleeve
    • Quantity: 2
  14. Input Shaft
    • For the coolant pump
  15. Seal
    • Always replace
  16. Oil Pump
  17. Input Shaft
    • For the oil pump
  18. Bolt
    • 8 Nm + 90°
    • Always replace
  19. Seal
    • Always replace
  20. Oil Drain Plug
    • 20 Nm
  21. Bolt
    • 9 Nm

NOTE:

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Tighten the bolts in stages as follows:

Step Bolts Tightening Specification/Additional Turn
1. -1 to 19- Install by hand all the way
2. -1 to 19- 5 Nm
3. -1 to 19- 90° additional turn

  1. O-Ring
    • Always replace
    • For Audi RS6/RS7
  2. Thermostat
    • For Audi RS6/RS7
    • Comprised of a thermal element, spring and cover
  3. Circlip
    • For the temperature regulator
    • For Audi RS6/RS7
  4. Oil Pan Upper Section
  5. Oil lines
    • For Audi RS6/RS7
  6. Bolts
    • 9 Nm
    • For Audi RS6/RS7
  7. O-rings
    • Always replace
    • For Audi RS6/RS7
  8. O-Ring
    • Always replace
  9. Seals
    • Always replace
  10. O-Ring
    • Always replace
  11. Front Engine Oil Cooler
  12. Bolt
    • Tightening specification, refer to -item  ) Bolt-.
  13. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
  14. Cap
  15. Seal
    • Always replace
  16. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
  17. Guide Tube
    • For the oil dipstick
  18. O-Ring
    • Always replace
  19. O-Ring
    • Always replace
  20. Alignment Pin
  21. Seal
    • Always replace
  22. Alignment Pins
  23. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 4.

NOTE:

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Tighten the bolts in stages as follows:

Step Bolts Tightening Specification/Additional Turn
1. -1 to 6- Install by hand all the way
2. -1 to 6- 5 Nm diagonally
3. -1 to 6- In a diagonal sequence, turn an additional 90°
