Tightening Specifications

-- Modify the adapter from the old high pressure pump to the new one when replacing the high pressure pump.

-- To loosen and tighten the nut -arrow- of the adapter, use the High Pressure Pump Shaft Holder :T40248  or High Pressure Pump Shaft Holder :T40292  .

-- Remove the adapter from the high pressure pump -1- as shown in the illustration. Use a puller, such as the Kukko 15-1/ 17-1/ and 18-1 (commercially available) to do this.

NOTE:

Different adapters may be installed depending on the date of manufacture

The high pressure lines also need to be replaced when replacing the high pressure pump.

-- Guide the high pressure pump into the chain sprocket.

-- Remove the Crankshaft Holder :3242  and the Locking Pin :T40245  .

-- Tighten the bolt for the "Top Dead Center (TDC)" marking in the oil pan upper section, refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the high pressure lines, refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINES, INSTALLING .

-- Install the coolant shut-off valve, refer to COOLANT SHUT-OFF VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the engine oil cooler, refer to OVERVIEW - ENGINE OIL COOLER .

-- Install the turbocharger, refer to TURBOCHARGER, SUPERCHARGER .

-- Install the intake manifold, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the rear noise insulation, refer to REAR NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

CAUTION:

Letting the high pressure pump run dry will damage it.
