Reducing Agent Tank, Removing And Installing: Removing
The reducing agent can cause skin irritation.
- Always observe the safety precautions when working with reducing agent. Refer to SCR SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Empty the reducing agent tank. Refer to REDUCING AGENT TANK, DRAINING .
-- Remove the rear left cover for the underbody. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL .
-- Disconnect the connector -1-, if equipped.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- for the NOx Sensor Control Module 2 -J881-.
-- Free up the wire.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Remove the metering line -2- by pressing the release buttons.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 3- and free up the wiring harness.
To catch escaping reducing agent place a clean cloth under the separation point.
-- Press the release button and disconnect the filling hose -1-.
-- Disconnect the vent line -2-, by pressing the blue slider -4- to loosen the retaining tabs -3-.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the : VAS6122 .
Danger due to reducing agent leaking out.
- The tank must be empty when removing it.
-- Place the : VAS6931 with a soft foam pad in-between to support the tank.
-- With a second mechanic to hold the tank -1-, remove bolts -arrow- by hand.
For better illustration the tank is shown without the engine and transmission.
-- Lower the tank using the : VAS6931 . Guide the tank with one hand while lowering it.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the : VAS6122 .
