WARNING:
When working on the whole exhaust system:
- Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
AWD Vehicles
-- Remove the rear tunnel brace. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL .
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- If equipped, remove the NOx Sensor 2 -G687- -2-.
NOTE:
Ignore -1- and -arrows-.
-- Loosen clamping sleeves -1 and 2- and slide towards the rear, and tie up the particulate filter to the underbody.
NOTE:
The illustration shows the installation position on a vehicle with two turbochargers.
WARNING:
Risk of accident due to the weight of the muffler.
- A second technician is needed to remove the rear muffler.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- and free up the wire.
-- Remove the bolts -1-, nuts -2- and the muffler.
