Left Exhaust Manifold, Removing And Installing: Removing
When working on the whole exhaust system:
Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Remove the particulate filter. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-. Refer to Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the nuts -arrow- and free up the coolant pipe on the wiring harness.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the coolant line -2- by lifting the retaining clip.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the : VAS6122 .
-- Remove the bolt -3- and set the coolant expansion tank aside.
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the left front wheel spoiler. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- If equipped, remove the nuts -arrows- and push the bracket -1- to the side.
Risk of damaging refrigerant lines and hoses.
Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant lines and hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- If applicable, remove bracket -1-.
-- Push aside the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor
-- Remove the bolts -1-.
Ignore item -2-.
-- Loosen and remove the nuts in the following sequence: -8 through 1-. Remove the exhaust manifold.
-- Loosen the clamp -arrow- and remove it.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the exhaust manifold.
