Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Pipe
- To the intake manifold
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to 27.
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to 27.

EGR Temperature Sensor -G98-
- 35 Nm Aluminum EGR Radiator
- 45 Nm Steel EGR Radiator
- Removing and installing. Refer to EGR Temperature Sensor -G98-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 9 Nm
EGR Cooler
- Removing and installing. Refer to EGR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Lubricate the EGR pipe on the EGR cooler before assembly. Refer to 27.

EGR Motor -V338-
- Pay attention to the installed position.
- With EGR Potentiometer -G212-
- Removing and installing. Refer to EGR Motor -V338-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

EGR Pipe
- From the Turbocharger
- If the screw-type clamp -21- was loosened, then the EGR pipe and the screw-type clamp must always be replaced.
- Lubricate the EGR pipe on the EGR cooler before assembly. Refer to 27, illustration.
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.

Screw-Type Clamp
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Always replace
- If the screw-type clamps were loosened, then the EGR pipe -item 19- and the screw-type clamp must always be replaced

Coolant Connection

- Tightening specification. Refer to -Item 7- OVERVIEW - COOLANT VALVE => List Item: Bolt .
Screw-Type Clamp
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to 27.

The flange at the EGR pipe must not be wavy or bent.

-- Attach the EGR pipe with the seals and the screw-type clamps.

NOTE:

Coat the thread on the bolts with hot bolt paste. For the correct hot bolt paste.

Step	Bolts/Screw-Type Clamps	Tightening Specification
1.	-1 and 2-	Turn them by hand until the bolt heads are touching
2.	-3-	Position them as shown in the illustration 2.5 Nm
3.	-1 and 2-	9 Nm

-- Before assembly, lightly lubricate the pictured area -1 and 2- with commercially available grease.

NOTE:

The illustration shows the installed position on a vehicle with a turbocharger.

Replace the EGR pipe and the screw-type clamp if the screw-type clamp was loosened.

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Attach the EGR pipe with the seals and the screw-type clamps.

NOTE:

Coat the thread on the bolts with hot bolt paste. For the correct hot bolt paste.

Step	Bolts/Screw-Type Clamps	Tightening Specification
1.	-2 and 3-	Turn them by hand until the bolt heads are touching
2.	-1-	Position using the tab on the EGR pipe tightening specification. Part number 059 131 548 C: 5 Nm Part number 059 131 548 D: 3.5 Nm Part number 059 131 548 E: 3.5 Nm
3.	-2 and 3-	5 Nm
4.	-2 and 3-	Tighten an additional 90°
