Pinpoint Test U : A Door Passive Entry Feature Is Inoperative

U1 CHECK THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Lock and unlock the doors using a door lock control switch.
Do the doors lock and unlock?

Yes GO to U2

No REFER to Symptom Chart: Electrical .

U2 CHECK THE RKE (REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY) OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock buttons on a key.
Do the doors lock and unlock?

Yes GO to U3

No GO to Pinpoint Test Q

U3 CHECK THE PASSIVE ENTRY OPERATION FROM ALL FRONT DOORS
- Operate the passive entry feature from both front doors.
- Operate the passive entry feature from rear doors.
Is the passive entry feature inoperative from all doors?

Yes GO to U4

No GO to U7

U4 CHECK THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect: BCM C2280D .

Ignition ON.

Measure:

Is any voltage present?

Yes	REPAIR the circuit.

U5 CHECK THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

Yes

Is the resistance between 1 and 10 ohms?

Yes

GO to U15

No	INSTALL a new keyless entry antenna for the one in question. REFER to: Front Door Keyless Entry Antenna .

U15 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION

Disconnect and inspect all the BCM connectors.

Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

Reconnect the BCM connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.

Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?

Yes

CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM, or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, BCM guided routine is not applicable for this vehicle and market. Replace the component that was faulted through service information diagnosis.

No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
