A head area heater is only available at this time for the A3 cabrio. Vehicles with head area heating can be identified for example by the vent -A-, which is installed on the seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR / OVERVIEW - HEADREST .
Additional Information On Head Area Heating. Refer to FRONT SEATS , using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the"Guided Fault Finding" function (for the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module -J519-) and refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram(s).
Components Involved with the Head Area Heating Actuation
The Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head (vehicles with an automatic climate control system) sends via the Data Bus the prompt to activate the left and/or right head area heater. The Vehicle Electrical System Control Module -J519- then activates the Left Head Area Heater Control Module -J846- and / or the Right Head Area Heater Control Module -J847- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the"Guided Fault Finding" function and refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram(s).
Check the head area heater function and actuation using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the"Guided Fault Finding" function for the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module -J519-.
