-- In the window glass cutting area, protect the side panel and roof against paint damage with adhesive tape.
-- Slide protective film between the cutting wire and the trim panels in the vehicle interior.
-- Unclip the roof trim molding on standard glass windows. Refer to ROOF TRIM MOLDING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, WITHOUT GLOSS PACKAGE .
-- For vehicles with a gloss package equipment the roof trim molding on the side panel on the C-pillar and on the roof in the area of the side window are pulled out of the clips. Refer to ROOF TRIM MOLDING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A3 WITH GLOSS PACKAGE .
Risk of injury to the hands and eyes from glass fragments.
Getting cut is possible.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
-- Route the cutting cord around the side window as shown in the illustration.
-- Secure ends X and Y in two pull handle from the :VAG1351 .
-- Push in a protective file on the inside in the entry zone cutting cord between the cutting cord and the trim to protect against damage.
-- Pull cutting wire forward in direction of arrow -A- using light sawing motions and cut through lower adhesive sealing material at side panel and at roof frame.
-- At the same time, the first the locating pin on the rear of the window glass and then the adhesive bead are cut through.
-- Then pull cutting wire through in direction of arrow -B- downward through adhesive sealing material.
-- Remove the window glass from the window opening.
