Water Channel, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove The Plenum Chamber Cover. Refer to OVERVIEW - PLENUM CHAMBER COVER / PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ; (Plenum Chamber Cover Overview).
-- If installed: Remove the Structure Borne Sound Control Module -J869-. Refer to the appropriate service information (OVERVIEW - BULKHEAD / PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ) (Overview - Structure Borne Sound Actuator and Control Module, Vehicles with a Diesel Engine) SENSORS [CRUA, DEJA] or SENSORS [CNSB, CNTC] (Overview - Structure Borne Sound Actuator and Control Module, Vehicles with a Diesel Engine).
-- If installed: Disconnect the connector -3- from the Air Quality Sensor -G238-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Remove the water channel -2- from the threaded pin -4- and remove it from the plenum chamber.
If the water channel is damaged or installed incorrectly, water can enter the fresh air intake. Complaints due to odor problems coming from the heater/A/C system and/or there is moisture in the passenger compartment may result.
If the plenum chamber cover is damaged or incorrectly installed, water can enter the fresh air intake via the water channel where applicable.
