Filling The Joints With Grease

NOTE:
Grease joint again when replacing protective joint boot.
- Bolt
- 200 Nm + 180° turn
- Always replace if removed
- Loosening and tightening. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
- Before installing, clean the threads in the CV joint with a tap
- Outer CV Joint
- Replace only as complete unit
- Removing. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, REMOVING
- Installing. Refer to DRIVE AXLE WITH TRIPLE ROLLER JOINT AAR 2600I, SERVICING, BOLTED
- Checking. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
- When installing joint on axle shaft, splines on axle shaft must be lightly coated with grease used in joint.

- Always replace if removed
- Insert in shaft groove
- Spacer Ring (Plastic)

- Tensioning. Refer to Figure
- Always replace if removed

- Check for tears and scuffing
- Clamp

- Triple Roller Star with Rollers
- The chamfer -arrow- faces the splines on the drive shaft
- When installing triple roller star on axle shaft, splines on axle shaft must be lightly coated with grease used in joint
- Locking Ring
- Always replace if removed
- Insert in shaft groove
- Clamp
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure
- Always replace if removed

- Check for tears and scuffing

- Tensioning. Refer to Figure

- Pre-tightening specification: diagonal sequence to 10 Nm
- M8 tightening specification: diagonal sequence to 40 Nm
- M10 tightening specification: diagonal sequence to 70 Nm
- Always replace if removed
