Filling The Joints With Grease

1. Bolt
   • 200 Nm + 180° turn 
   • Always replace if removed
   • Loosening and tightening. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
   • Before installing, clean the threads in the CV joint with a tap
2. Outer CV Joint
   • Replace only as complete unit
   • Divide the grease between the ball paths
   • Removing. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, REMOVING 
   • Installing: Using a plastic hammer, drive onto the shaft as far as the stop
   • Checking. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
3. Locking Ring
   • Always replace if removed
   • Insert in shaft groove
4. Clamp
   • Tensioning. Refer to Figure
   • Always replace if removed
5. CV Boot
   • Check for tears and scuffing
6. Clamp
   • Tensioning. Refer to Figure
   • Always replace if removed
7. Drive Axle
8. Clamp
   • Tensioning. Refer to Figure
   • Always replace if removed
9. CV Joint Protective Boot
   • Check for tears and scuffing
10. Locking Ring
    • Always replace if removed
    • Insert in shaft groove
11. Clamp
    • Tensioning. Refer to Figure
    • Always replace if removed
12. CV Joint
    • Replace only as complete unit
    • Removing. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, REMOVING 
    • Divide the grease between the ball paths
    • Installing: Using a plastic hammer, drive onto the shaft as far as the stop
13. Protective Cap
    • Remove. Refer to Figure
    • Installing. Refer to Figure
