Right Drive Axle Bolted Inner Joint: Removing
-- Loosen the wheel side drive shaft threaded connection -arrow-. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
-- Remove the wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- If installed disconnect the Vehicle Inclination Sensor -G384- coupling rod from the control arm, to do this remove the nuts -4-.
-- If installed remove the bolts -1- and the heat shield -2-.
-- Remove the coupling rod. Refer to COUPLING ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the drive shaft from the transmission flange -arrows-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- from the ball joint.
-- Disengage the control arm from the ball joint.
-- Lower the suspension strut. Refer to SUSPENSION STRUT, LOWERING .
Applies to Vehicles with Sport Suspension:
-- On sport suspensions, lower the suspension strut. If the vehicle does not have a sport suspension the sport suspension must not be lowered. Refer to SUSPENSION STRUT, LOWERING .
-- Pivot the suspension strut outward, while doing so push the drive axle out of the wheel bearing unit.
-- Remove drive shaft.
