Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing And Installing, Multi-Link Suspension Vehicles With Front Wheel Drive: Removing

-- Before beginning work measure the distance from the center of wheel to lower edge of wheelhouse. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .

-- Remove the wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Remove The Brake Caliper. Refer to REAR BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

• If the wheel bearing housing is being replaced and the old wheel bearing unit reinstalled, the wheel bearing unit must be removed.

-- If necessary, remove the wheel bearing unit. Refer to WHEEL BEARING UNIT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MULTI-LINK SUSPENSION VEHICLES WITH FRONT WHEEL DRIVE .

-- Remove the brake shield, if necessary. Refer to BRAKE SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicle With A Vehicle Inclination Sensor -G384-

-- Remove the bolts -1- at the left and right on the linkage -2- for the rear Vehicle Inclination Sensor -G384-.

Vehicles With Stone Chip Protection

-- Remove the expanding rivets -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -2- and the stone chip protection -3-.

Continuation For All Vehicles

-- Remove coil spring. Refer to SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the ABS speed sensor.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the electromechanical parking brake motor from the brake caliper.

-- Remove and free up the wiring harness from the brackets -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the nuts -3, 6 and 8- and then the bolts -4, 5, 7 and 9-.

-- Remove wheel bearing housing.
