- Outer CV Joint
- Replace only as complete unit
- Removing. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, PRESSING OFF 82 MM
- Installing: Using a plastic hammer, drive onto the shaft as far as the stop
- Divide the grease evenly in the joint
- Checking. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
- Bolt
- :WHT.005.437 / black = 200 Nm + 180° turn
- :WHT.005.437.A / silver = 200 Nm + 90° turn
- Always replace if removed
- Loosening and tightening. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
- Before installing, clean the threads in the CV joint with a thread tap.
- Drive Axle

- Clamp
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure
- Always replace if removed
- CV Boot
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Material: polyelastomer

- Plate Spring
- With inner spline
- Installed position. Refer to Figure
- Locking Ring
- Always replace if removed
- Insert in shaft groove
- CV Boot
- Material: polyelastomer
- Without vent hole
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Drive off CV joint using drift
- Coat the sealing surface with :D 454 300 A2 before installing it on the CV joint
- Clamp
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure
- Always replace if removed
- Locking Plate
- Internal Multi-Point Bolt
- Pre-Tightening Specification: Diagonal Sequence To 10 Nm
- M8 Tightening Specification:Diagonal Sequence To 20 Nm
- M8 Tightening Specification: Diagonal Sequence With 180° Additional Turn
- Always Replace If Removed
- Locking Ring
- Always replace if removed
- Remove and install using Circlip Pliers:VW161A
- Seal
- Always replace if removed
- Bonding surface on CV joint must be free of grease and oil!
- Inner CV Joint
- Replace only as complete unit
- Divide the grease evenly in the joint
