Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing, MODINE Condenser: Removing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Remove the condenser until the dryer cartridge closure is reachable without loosening the respective refrigerant lines on the condenser. Refer to CONDENSER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Condenser Version "1" :

-- Remove the safety warning label (if equipped).

-- Remove the closure cap -1-.

-- Check the refrigerant circuit pressure with the pressure gauge on an A/C service station. Refer to USING SERVICE STATION (R134a) / PRESSURES, CHECKING (R134a) (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or WORKING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION (R1234yf) .

WARNING:

Danger Due To Refrigerant Coming Out Under Pressure.

Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

Evacuate the refrigerant and immediately open the refrigerant circuit afterward.
If more than 10 minutes have elapsed since evacuating the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, evacuate the refrigerant again. Pressure in the refrigerant circuit is caused by evaporation.

-- Push the closure cap -1- in slightly.

-- Remove the circlip -arrow- and then remove the closure cap from the condenser -2- using a M12 bolt.

-- Make a 2 mm welding wire with the following dimensions.

Dimension -a- = 380 mm.
Dimension -b- = maximum 7 mm.
Dimension -c- = maximum 6 mm.

-- Hook the welding wire on the screen exactly as illustrated to prevent damage to the condenser.

-- Carefully remove the filter element (screen) -2- from the receiver/dryer using the welding wire -1-.

-- Seal the open receiver/dryer with the closure cap -1- to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in.

-- Remove the protective cap -1- using the :T10128 .

-- Remove the dryer unit -1- from the condenser -2- using needle nose pliers.
