Overview - Parking Brake

NOTE:
Clean the bolts and nuts before reusing.
Always replace self-locking nuts and bolts.
Always replace damaged nuts and bolts.
NOTE:
Due to a mechanical or electrical fault, it may be required to manually loosen the parking brake in order to move the vehicle. Refer to PARKING BRAKE, MANUALLY LOOSENING .
- Rear Brake Caliper
- Seal
- Replace after removing.

- 8 Nm
- Parking Brake Motor
- Left Parking Brake Motor -V282-
- Right Parking Brake Motor -V283-
- Removing and Installing. Refer to LEFT AND RIGHT PARKING BRAKE MOTOR -V282- / -V283-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .WARNING:
Risk of accident!
- Before removing the parking brake motor, secure the vehicle from rolling. When the parking brake motor is removed, the activated parking brake loosens by itself.
- ABS Control Module -J104-
- The control for the electro-mechanical parking brake is integrated in the ABS Control Module -J104-.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538-
- with Electromechanical Parking Brake Indicator Lamp -K213-
- Component location, removing and installing. Refer to CONTROLS .
- Instrument Cluster
- With the Brake System Indicator Lamp -K118-
