Overview - Front Brakes, RS 3 1LF, 1LH And 1LU

NOTE:
Clean the bolts and nuts before reusing.
Always replace self-locking nuts and bolts.
Always replace damaged nuts and bolts.
- Brake Pad Springs
- Replace when replacing the pads
- Make sure they are seated correctly in the brake caliper
- Bracket

- 8 Nm
- Brake Hose
- Make sure the brake hose is routed correctly. Make sure the brake hose is not pinched, bent, twisted or rubbing against the vehicle.
- Replace if damaged
- Make sure that tabs are properly seated in the grooves on the bracket.
- Tightening specification: brake hose to brake caliper, 15 Nm
- Spring
- Replace if damaged

- Brake Line
- Brake line to brake hose tightening specification: 14 Nm
- Spring
- Replace if damaged
- Bolt
- 200 Nm

- Wheel Bearing Housing

- For brake hose and wire

- 12 Nm
- Protective Cap
- Bleed Screw
- 10 Nm
- Before installing, thinly coat with Assembly Paste:G 052 150 A2 .
- Bolt
- 5.0 Nm
- Brake Rotor
- Always replace on both axles.
- Do not use excessive force to separate the brake rotor from the wheel hub. Use rust remover, if necessary, otherwise the brake rotor could be damaged.

- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Must not be removed from the brake carrier. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT BRAKES, RS 3 1LF, 1LH AND 1LU .

- Brake Pads
- Check the pad thickness. Refer to appropriate service information.
- Always replace on both axles.
- Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, FRONT BRAKES, RS 3, 1LF, 1LH, 1LU
- Pay attention to the installation position: inner right brake pad with brake pad wear sensor
- Brake Pad Pins
- Replace when replacing the pads
- Note the installation position
- Drive out from the outside toward the inside
NOTE:

Do Not Loosen the Brake Caliper/Brake Carrier and Tension Strut arrows Threaded Connection
CAUTION:
Risk of malfunction.
- The bolts -arrows- on the brake caliper for the brake carrier -1- and the tension strut -2- may not be loosened.
