Gas-Filled Strut, Removing And Installing, A3 And SPORTBACK

Gas-Filled Strut
- To remove open and support the rear lid.
- Lightly lift the securing spring -arrows- with a screwdriver and remove the gas-filled strut from the ball pin.
  NOTE:
  After completely removing gas-filled strut, ensure correct position when installing.
  
  Noise insulation component must be installed on the body side.
- When installing the center gas-filled strut ball socket push onto the ball stud while turning it gently.

NOTE:
Should the ball head pin have to be removed or adjusted, then replace it.
- 21 Nm
Clip
- Loosening. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, DISENGAGING .
