Spoiler Lower Section, Removing And Installing, RS3 Sedan: Removing
-- Remove The Air Intake Grille. Refer to AIR INTAKE GRILLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS3 SEDAN .
-- Remove the lower reinforcement brace. Refer to LOWER REINFORCEMENT BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RS3 SEDAN .
-- Free up the washer fluid hose -5-.
-- Remove the expanding rivets -1 and 2-.
-- Release the catches -3- and remove the trim -4- toward the inside.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.
-- Pry out the clamp -3-.
-- Release the catches -3, 4 and 5-.
-- Remove the spoiler lower section -1- from the bumper cover -2- -arrow-.
Preparing The Spoiler Lower Section For Installation With New Parts
The spoiler lower section and the connecting piece come separate when ordered and must be prepared as follows for the installation.
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Cleaning Solution :D 009 401 04
- Plastic Bonding Agent :D 822 150 A1
- Two Part Plastic Adhesive :D 88 KU2 A1
- The spoiler lower section and the connecting piece must be room temperature.
- The adhesive surfaces must be free of dirt and grease.
-- Clean the adhesive surface using the Cleaning Solution :D 009 401 04 .
-- Using the applicator -3-, apply the Plastic Bonding Agent :D 822 150 A1 -item 1- evenly in a single stroke on the adhesive surface -2-.
-- Clean the bonding agent treated area with a clean disposable paper towel and let dry for 10 minutes.
- If the Plastic Bonding Agent :D 822 150 A1 dries longer than 3 hours, then it must be primed again.
-- Position the connection piece -2- on the spoiler lower section -3- and secure it from shifting using adhesive tape -1-.
-- Fill the specified holes -arrows- with Two Part Plastic Adhesive :D 88 KU2 A1 until these are visible on the tabs -4-.
- Curing time of the bonded components is 20 minutes.
- Vehicle resting time is at least 1.5 hours at room temperature.
