Fuel Tank, Draining: Notes

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Fuel Extractor:VAS5190A

Emptying a Fuel Tank More Than ³ /₄ Full. Refer to FUEL TANK, DRAINING => Emptying a Fuel Tank More Than 3/4 Full .

Procedure

-- Observe the safety instructions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .

-- Move the front seats all the way forward.

-- Release and open the fuel filler door.

-- Remove the cap -2- for the fuel filler -1-.

NOTE:

Ignore -3-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of destroying electronic components when disconnecting the battery.

Follow the steps for disconnecting the battery.

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery terminal. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING (A3 / A3 CABRIOLET) .

WARNING:

There is a risk of explosion due to electrostatic charge.

Secure the ground wire of the :VAS5190A to a bare area on the body.
