Crankshaft Needle Bearing, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Bearing Installer - Bearing Press Piece :VW207C
- Internal Puller :VAS251635
- Counter Support :VAS251621
Conditions:
- Check the needle bearing -arrow- for damage and if necessary replace the needle bearing.
- The front edges of the internal puller must not be broken off.
Needle Bearing, Removing
-- Remove the needle bearing -1- using the :VAS251635 -A- and :VAS251621 -B- from the crankshaft -2-.
-- The internal puller must be positioned behind the needle rim -arrow-.
Installing
-- Clean the bearing seat in the crankshaft and apply a thin coat of grease.
-- Drive the needle bearing into the crankshaft up to the installation depth using the :VW207C .
- If the needle bearing is unintentionally pushed in to deeply, it must be replaced, because it will be damaged when it is removed again.
