Right Flange Shaft, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With Fwd: Removing
- The transmission is installed.
- Pay attention to the general information. Refer to GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Pay attention to the general repair information. Refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- If installed, remove the bolts -arrows-, and remove the right drive axle heat shield.
-- Turn steering as far as possible toward right.
-- Remove the drive axle from on the right of the transmission -arrow-. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- on the right ball joint.
-- Remove the nut from the bracket for the Right Front Level Control Sensor -G289-.
-- Disengage the right ball joint from the transverse link.
-- Fasten the right ball joint -2- on the transverse link -1- with the nut -arrow-, as shown.
-- Tie up the right drive axle toward the rear.
- Be careful not to damage the protective coating on the drive axle.
-- Install two bolts into the flange, counterhold the flange shaft with the pry lever and remove the bolt -arrow- from the right flange shaft.
-- Remove the flange shaft.
