Rear Muffler, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With Front Wheel Drive And Torsion Beam Axle: Removing

• Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON EXHAUST SYSTEM .

-- Vehicles without a separating point: Separate the exhaust pipes/mufflers. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .

-- Vehicles with a separating point: Loosen the clamp -arrow- and push to the right.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the rear muffler.

If the exhaust pipe is to be removed:

-- Remove the rear left underbody trim panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS / UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the rear tunnel brace -2-. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS / UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen clamping sleeve -2- and push it rearward.
