EGR Cooler, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the battery tray -1-. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left coolant pipes. Refer to LEFT COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If installed: Disconnect the vacuum hose -arrow- and free it up.

Do not open the crankcase ventilation hose connection -1-. Only the other side of the hose connection may be opened.

-- Free up the vacuum hose on the air guide pipe -arrows-.

-- Remove bolt -2- and tilt the air guide pipe with the intake tube backward and remove from the turbocharger.

-- If equipped, remove the connector -2- from the bracket, disconnect it and free up the wire.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the resonator -1-.

-- Remove the vacuum hose -arrow- from the brake booster and push aside.

-- Remove The Gearshift And The Selector Lever Cable From the transmission, remove the cable mounting bracket and move it to the side with the cables. Refer to the appropriate service information (SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING / OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM /OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM ) .

Vehicles With S Tronic Transmission 0CW 

-- Remove the selector lever cable from the transmission, remove the cable mounting bracket and tie it up with the cables. Refer to the appropriate service information (SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING / OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM /OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM ) .

Vehicles With S Tronic Transmission 0D9 

-- Remove the selector lever cable from the transmission and pull it out of the cable bracket. Refer to the appropriate service information (SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING / OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM /OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM ) .

AWD Vehicles 

-- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

All Vehicles 

• Use the : T40207  to disconnect the connector -5- in illustration "A26-11266". Disconnect the securing pin on the connector housing -1- in direction of -arrow-.

-- Push the heat shield boot aside, and disconnect the connector -5-.

-- Loosen the clamp -3- and remove the air guide hose.

-- Loosen the clamp -4- and remove the coolant hose.

-- Loosen the bolt -6-, push the screw clamp to the particulate filter.

-- Remove the bolt -1- using the :T10501  , and loosen bolt -2-.

-- Remove the EGR cooler.
