Fuel Tank, Removing And Installing, All Wheel Drive (AWD) Vehicles: Installing

NOTE:

Press the fuel supply lines on again and pull on them to make sure the connector coupling is engaged correctly.

Pay attention when connecting the connectors that they are secure.

-- Check the ground wires for traces of oxidation on the connectors. Remove any oxidation if necessary.

-- Make sure the following connectors are secure:

The connector -2- must be securely attached to the metal ring -3-.
Engage the contact -1- in the fuel tank -4- and secure it with the spacer -5-.

WARNING:

Danger due to electrostatic charge.

After installing, check electrical connection on fuel filler neck metal ring to an empty spot on the body using an Ohm meter.

Specified Value: Approximately 0 Ω.

-- Check if the fuel lines are clipped onto the fuel tank.

-- Position the fuel tank with the tensioning straps on the underbody using Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS6931 .

-- Make sure the fuel tank is positioned so that the filler tube can be guided into the opening of the body correctly.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, Noting The Following:

-- Install The Driveshaft. Refer to the appropriate service information. .

-- Install the rear bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
