Cooling System, Filling

Conditions: 

• The needle on the pressure gauge -arrow- must move until it is well below the green area.

-- >>Slowly<< open the shut-off valve -A-, to prevent the foaming up of the coolant.

• Coolant is extracted from the Cooling System Charge Device VAS 6968 container by pressure in the coolant system and the system is filled.

-- Close after filling the shut-off valve -A-.

-- Remove the :VAS6096/2  , :VAS6096  and :VAS691005/5  from the coolant expansion tank.

-- Coolant must be filled up to the MAX mark.

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Start the engine.

-- Set the temperature to "HI".

-- Press AC  to turn off the A/C compressor.

• The LED in the button must not come on.

-- Set the A/C system fresh air blower to the lowest setting.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Select Diagnostic  operating mode and Start diagnostics  .

-- Select the Select individual test  tab and select the following tree structure consecutively:

• Drivetrain 
• Select The Engine Code And Engine 
• 01- OBD-Capable Systems  .
• 01 - Engine Electronics 
• 01 - Engine Electronics, Functions 
• 01 Filling Coolant Circuit 

-- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Let the engine cool.
