Hood, Removing And Installing
- To complete the procedure, a second technician is required to be at the following position found here. Refer to HOOD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the hood by opening when the pedestrian protection is triggered
- Only open the hood after the triggered pedestrian protection has been reset.
- Removed pedestrian protection: hinge is reset. Refer to HINGE, RESETTING .
-- Remove the washer nozzle and washer fluid hose. If equipped, free up the wiring harness. Refer to SPRAY NOZZLES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the Gas-Filled Strut from the hood. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the nuts from the hinge.
-- Remove the front lid.
Install In Reverse Order Of Removal.
ADJUSTING:
- Adjustment dimensions. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSIONS .
-- Center the hood between the fenders.
-- Adjust the height of the hood over the lid lock.
-- Adjust the gap between the hood and the fenders using the adjusting buffers. Refer to HEIGHT, ADJUSTING USING ADJUSTING BUFFER .
