Ribbed Belt, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With Hydraulic Power Steering: Removing

-- Remove the supercharger ribbed belt. Refer to SUPERCHARGER RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- using the Wrench - Door Adjusting - Box Wrench 3320/2.

-- Push the idler roller to the fan shroud.

-- Remove the bolt -2- on the left front coolant pipe.

NOTE:

The installed position is shown in the illustration with the engine removed.

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the front noise insulation -1-. Refer to Front Noise Insulation Removing And Installing .

-- Remove the bolt -1- for the left front coolant pipes.

NOTE:

The installed position is shown in the illustration with the engine removed.

Ignore the -arrows-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damage due to reversed running direction on a used ribbed belt.

  • For installing the ribbed belt again, mark the running direction with chalk or a felt tip pen.

-- To release the tension on the ribbed belt, pivot the tensioner clockwise -arrow- and then lock using a Locking Pin T10060A.

-- Remove the ribbed belt and release the tension on the tensioning element.
